The CLUSTERJET printhead controller system has no restrictions regarding the use of colors.

Only rasterized color separations in the shape of links to 1 bit Tiff files are passed to the system. If print heads are to be operated in the multible dot process, a separate 1 bit Tiff file is required for each drop size.

The data from these color separations are fed to accounting units that work together in a coordinated manner and pass the data on to the FIFO memories of one or more nozzle rows, depending on the configuration.

The system does not know or pay attention to the contents of the color separations.

Configurations with any number of process and/or spot colors can be created.
